The future of surfing is difficult to imagine with the growing popularity of surf culture and increasing pressures from population growth.
The International Surfing Symposium will celebrate the conservation of surfing experiences and explore sustainable surfing futures. The Academic Session, hosted by Griffith University, aims to bring together the best researchers and industry professionals to share the latest research and new ideas to the surfing community and industry.

Call for Papers
This is a call for extended abstracts for the Academic Session of the International Surfing Symposium. Submit an extended abstract of 600 words in length. All abstracts are subject to review by the conference committee. There will be no full papers to be submitted for this conference. Academics and professionals who have their papers accepted will be expected to present their work at the conference. Papers will be published as a volume of proceedings with an ISBN. Presentation guidelines will be forwarded upon acceptance of papers.
